COMPLETE SALVATION

"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
— Rom.10:9-10

Romans 10:9-10 presents us with a picture of what we could call “complete salvation” – it contains four vital ingredients: confession, faith, justification and salvation.

Confession: “the Lord Jesus” – i.e. recognize and confess that Jesus is Lord, which means acknowledging the claim of Lordship of Jesus Christ over your life, repentance from your independent rebellion, giving up all your rights to your life and submitting to Him as the Lord and Master of your entire life.

Faith: “that God has raised Him from the dead” – this necessarily demands faith also in the death of Jesus.

So, what does this imply?

Jesus died to put an end to the old sinful man on the cross. In His resurrection He created a completely new and righteous man.

When I in faith accept that this applies to me, I die with Christ from my old life and become a new creation in Him.

Justification: “with the heart one believes unto righteousness” – Justification means coming into a right relationship with God.

The spirit of enmity and disobedience towards God has been exchanged for a heart of love for Him and I am now “reconciled to God”. Instead of being His enemy, I am His beloved child with the Spirit of adoption in my heart crying out: “Abba, Father”, and when I walk in the Spirit, I live the kind of life God requires of me.

Salvation: “with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” – Salvation is to be set totally free from every hold and authority of the devil and sin over one´s life, to be “rescued from the domain of darkness, and transferred to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

Complete salvation means that the Lordship of Christ is established in a person's life so that he can walk in the Spirit as victorious over sin, the flesh, the devil and the world!
