NEW TESTAMENT SALVATION

"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
— 2 Corinthians 5:21

The inconceivable reality of salvation is that the Only Sinless One is made the greatest of all sinners, in order to transform all sinners into sinless people like Himself.

New Testament salvation is not "just" forgiveness of my sins and guilt, so that I "avoid" having a bad conscience and escape from judgment.

That salvation already existed in the Old Testament.

No, it's about something much more radical and life-changing.

The judgment on the cross was a judgment and annulment of the devil's spiritual authority over mankind, and at the same time a judgment and destruction of the old, fallen man and everything pertaining to him.

To say "yes" to salvation is therefore to fully consent to this judgment and submit all I am as a fallen man to its death sentence and destruction, so that the old man is obliterated in me and Christ takes shape in me as my righteousness, my essential and real life.

Sin is not just wrong actions that need to be forgiven, but a perverted spirit nature that needs to be eradicated and replaced with a sinless and pure one.

Man will not and cannot stop sinning until his basic spirit nature is changed.

The death of Jesus Christ on the cross dealt with our basic sin nature. He had to become completely

identified with it unto death in order to destroy its satanic spirit-power and thus free us from its all-dominant dominion in and over us.

Through His resurrection, He makes us partakers of His own sinless and pure spirit nature and we are radically transformed from sinners to righteous.

When the source of sin is removed from within us, we cease to sin and since the fundamental source

of our being now is the spotless spirit nature of our Lord, we begin to do what is right and holy.

This is the revolutionary teaching of the Word of God.

Exchange of our basic spirit nature, transforming us from sinners to saints, is the great miracle and wonder of the Atonement!
