REST

"Come to me – and I will give you rest, In Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him."
— Matthew 11:28; Colossians 2:9-10

The rest that Jesus came to bring us into, is the rest of completeness.

He says “come to ME – and I will give you rest!”

He is completeness, the fulfilled and complete Person and He alone can give us rest: by bringing us

into Himself, into His fullness and completeness and thus making us fulfilled and complete persons.

Fullness is a spiritual fact, a spiritual reality: God is fullness, “God is Spirit.”

"He satisfies your desire with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle." (Ps.103:5).

When Christ meets and satisfies your deepest desire, the thirst for life, the longing to become a whole and complete person, all other lower desires are extinguished and you become a free person, free to live the life you are destined to live from eternity.

"Your youth is renewed like the eagle" - you receive divine power to reach the heights you are meant to reach and realize the purposes you were created to realize.

This is total satisfaction.

But it is only His "good" that can bring you there: His divine fullness, the rich life of the Spirit.

You will not find it in any man, however good, fine and attractive he/she may be - only in THE SON OF MAN, Jesus Christ, the complete and true man. Therefore, He says: "Come to ME, and I will give you rest."

The physical world is the world of phenomena, they fascinate and attract us, but can never deeply satisfy us.

We are created for the Spirit of God and can only find our fulfilment in the spiritual world.

Jesus says: "If anyone is thirsty, come to Me and drink! He who believes in Me, out of his innermost

being will flow rivers of living water. This he said about the Spirit."

Only the Spirit of God can realize me as a person. In the fullness of the Spirit I find the "rest" that Jesus speaks about in Matthew 11 and stop vainly chasing fulfilment in the world of phenomena!
