Man is fundamentally spiritual and ’manifestedly’ physical, not the other way around!

Everything man is, including his body, was created for God, not for man himself.

The consequence of this is that the basic identity of man, which we consciously realize in our soul, is not physical-sexual. Manhood and womanhood are fundamentally spiritual realities, only secondarily psychophysical-sexual.

If you turn the table around, which happened at the Fall, man immediately becomes a victim and slave of his physical instincts, primarily the sexual.

In our search for identity, our spirit is the inward, determining centre of our personality: it is eternal-fundamental. Secondly our body is the outward stable entity and lastly our soul is the most fluid and fluctuating, influenced by both spirit and body as well as other, outward forces.

Therefore, to allow our fluctuating soul or the influence of our culture and environment to determine our genus or sexuality is devastatingly dangerous.

The ever-changing theories of religion, philosophy and psychology cannot help us out in our search for a stable identity, and even less the so popular, modern gender research.

Only as our human spirit is invaded and made alive by the Spirit of God at the new birth, do we begin to realize our fundamental spiritual constitution as men and women created in the image of God.

Then we have to let our human mind be illuminated and saturated with this inner, spiritual reality through constantly reading studying and meditating on the eternal truths of the Word of God.

This is the only way to acquire a stable spiritual identity that is not upset by the influences of our environment.
