REALITY
"By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible."
The visible world, the one we perceive and process with our natural senses is real.
It is not an illusion as Eastern religions, Hinduism, Buddhism and New Age would have us believe.
Man is not an illusion either, but very real.
But Reality itself is God.
The basis and origin of everything we perceive in the visible, physical world lies in the invisible, spiritual world. It is eternal and indestructible, the visible world is temporary and perishable.
That is why it is so important to have the right perspective on existence: "We look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Cor.4:18)
With our natural senses we perceive and process the visible, physical world.
Only "through faith" can we understand and get in touch with Reality.
But before faith is born in our hearts, we live in the illusions of our minds about ourselves and the world around us. Our innermost reality, our spirit, is shrouded in darkness and therefore our minds are also darkened. Thus, we also draw the wrong conclusions from what we perceive.
But when we are born again, the Light, Reality itself, enters our spirit and faith is born there.
Then we get in touch with the spiritual world, "the kingdom of God", because our spirit has been made alive and "seated with Him the heavenly world in Christ Jesus." (Eph. 2:4-6)
When we pray, led by the Spirit of God, we have direct contact with Reality in our spirit, and when our minds are renewed by the Word of God, a new and correct perception of ourselves and the physical world, God's creation, is formed in us.
