A word of encouragement for your day.
DISTANCE (2)
"Peter followed Jesus at a distance."
There must be a distance between Jesus and everyone else and everything else in your life and mine.
But there must absolutely be no distance between Jesus and you, Jesus and me.
Never!
Then there is danger ahead!
“Peter followed Jesus at a distance to the high priest’s courtyard.”
Why did he do that?
He was afraid for his own skin!
If he went together with Jesus, he too could be arrested, accused, and perhaps…….
He wanted to save his own life.
But whoever wants to save his life loses it!
That is exactly what happened to Peter.
He lost the most precious and important thing in his life.
His close relationship with the Master.
And he denied him with curses and blasphemies.
Just because he had followed Jesus at a distance.
Never do that!
Never allow a distance to come between you and Jesus, whatever it may cost you.
Then there is room for the devil and there must be absolutely none.
That is life-threatening!
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom
he may devour.” (1 Pet.5:8)
Who can he “devour”?
Anyone who has distance to Jesus.
Then we are no longer on the alert!
Build a deep and intimate love relationship with Jesus every day and make sure that you stay close to Him every moment of your day.
Be unbreakably faithful to Him – faithful until death.
That is the only way to be saved, the only way to emerge victorious from the spiritual battle.
“Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.”
Is there a distance between you and Jesus, or …..?
