RESURRECTION LIFE (1)

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. The Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you."
— 1 Peter 1:3; Romans 8:11

The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is the greatest and most powerful thing that has ever happened in the history of the universe.

Why?

The powers that were released then are infinitely greater than the mighty powers that created our entire amazing universe, our wonderful world, and the greatest and most unfathomable thing in creation: man, the image of God!

In the resurrection the “new man” was created/born and He is the Beginning of the new creation, of “new heavens and a new earth”, infinitely greater, more glorious and more wonderful than the first.

It is these enormous powers that cause us to be born again, and Paul prays in Ephesians 1:17-23 that our spiritual eyes may be opened so that we may see and understand the unimaginably great and life-changing powers that are at work in us who believe.

What does that mean?

It is impossible to be born again without it being noticeable!

If a radical change in life does not begin, it is doubtful whether the new birth has taken place at all.

It does not mean that one suddenly becomes completely changed.

No, but a powerful process begins that step by step leads to a complete change in life.

What are the first signs of this new life?

A love for Jesus: one wants to spend time with Him and a prayer life starts its cautious beginning.

One wants to read the Bible to understand more of this new life and spend time with other believers in the church, listen to preaching and teaching, take part in praise and worship.

To your surprise, you find that you no longer want to do what used to be so appealing and important, and that old habits and behaviours begin to change.

This process of transformation continues until our last breath.

Have your eyes been opened to the powerful forces of the resurrection life?
