THE SPIRITUAL AND THE HUMAN

"If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."
— Galatians 5:25

What is a truly “spiritual” person - a person who “walks in the Spirit”?

One who can only talk about “spiritual” things?

Who always has to pray?

Always reads the Bible?

Who is completely committed to “his spiritual ministry”?

Or?

Let’s take a look at the truly spiritual man Jesus!

How did He spend most of His earthly life?

In prayer, Scripture reading, preaching, teaching, and healing?

No, He lived like a completely “ordinary” person, obeying His parents and working as a carpenter with His father until he was 30!

Of course, He read the Scriptures and prayed during that time.

But most of His time He worked with His hands.

Only for three and a half years did He devote himself entirely to His “spiritual” ministry!

Also during that time, He ate and drank and socialized with “ordinary” non-spiritual people (Luk.8:34).

And He was so naturally genuine and fun to be with that they were drawn to Him (Luk.15:1).

Then He died on the cross, rose again after three days and ascended to heaven after another 40 days.

The Son of God!

Sent to earth to save us humans!

How is that possible?

He came to save us to become completely “ordinary” humans.

Through His life He has sanctified everyday life, family life and work life, made the human spiritual.

It is spiritual to be human.

Only the truly spiritual man is genuinely human.
