The victory of the cross is the threefold victory of Love!

It was the Father who in eternal love sent His Son into the world hostile to God, to rebellious

humanity, in order to give His life as a sacrifice to save, justify and transform it.

And it was the Son who, in selfless loving obedience to his Heavenly Father, went to the cross to give

His life, Himself, there as a ransom for all people, to redeem us from the terrible slavery of self-life and transform us into free lovers of God.

Finally, and most importantly of all, it was the mighty power of Love of the Holy Spirit that made it possible for the Son to endure the humiliation of the cross, the suffocating spiritual power of death, and to rise as the invincible Victor and Deliverer.

If God had not been a Trinity, salvation had not been a possibility.

Love is the most powerful force in the universe—the only one that was able to crush the serpent’s head and redeem humanity from the devil’s cruel rule over the world by freeing us from our stubborn rebellious self-will and implanting in us the humble loving obedience of the Christ-life.

When the Spirit of Love of the Son has invaded our entire being, freed us from the pitiful slavery of our self-love and transformed us into free lovers of God, there is nothing on earth or in the spirit world that can defeat us anymore.
