We cannot compensate for obedience with religious activities and pious talk.

Jesus says that if we love Him, we will keep His commandments, and conversely, that obedience to His Word causes us to abide in His love.

We do not obey Him out of fear of punishment, but because we desire to do so with all our hearts.

The prerequisite for a life of obedience is, therefore, a heart that has been captivated by God’s love through the Holy Spirit.

It matters not how much knowledge of the Bible we hold in our heads if our hearts are not humble and obedient, like Jesus.

A person who walks in childlike obedience to the Holy Spirit receives divine revelation and develops a Christ-like character—something infinitely more valuable than theological degrees and theoretical knowledge.

It pleases the Lord when one listens to His voice!
