Daily Word
A word of encouragement for your day.
UNITED
"The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me."
Union with Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the rock-foundation of existence and must become the
fundamental reality of our lives.
We cannot exist as true persons apart from Him, apart from the Spirit-flow of life that comes from
Him alone. His Spirit-Word is the person-creating-forming stream of living water and without it our personality withers and dies.
Therefore, Psalm one declares: “Blessed is the man, whose delight is in the law (teaching) of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.”
The Holy Spirit draws us to Christ and reveals the beauty of His Person to us, in order to unite us with Him in an indivisible union of Love. In that union, He awakens an intense thirst for the Word of God in us and forms the wonderful Person of Christ in us through the Word, so that Christ Himself becomes our essential Life.
The Spirit of God burns with jealous love against any and every other relationship that competes with our loyalty to the person of Christ, whether that be father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sister or even our own life.
Nothing must come in between our relationship to the Lord.
We must be entirely His.
Only then can the purposes of our heavenly Father be realized in us, His beloved children.
Just as the purposes of the Father for His Son were realized in complete union between them, can His purposes for us only be realized in complete union with His Son.
The task of the Holy Spirit is to fulfil the love-plan of the Father in us through uniting us in this bond of love with the Son, so that we are forever inseparably united with Him.
