How can you and I convey a ‘right’ message to others about Jesus?

A ‘right’ message can only come from a right heart and only a heart filled with divine love is a right heart!

No matter how ‘good’ and theologically ‘correct’ your message is – if the motivation is wrong, the message is also wrong.

We can only be messengers of Jesus if we love people as He loved them. We cannot preach or

witness to people we do not love from our heart.

Only divine love opens people’s hearts to listen to what we have to say. Preaching or witnessing without that love will repel people because there will easily come a metallic tone in the voice and we will become “a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.”

We must be completely free from any form of religious compulsion and our own ambitions in order to be a true witness to the world.

If we have any other goal or purpose than Christ, we do not see the person. Our message becomes forced and intrusive, instead of conveying the love of Jesus for the person.

A true messenger is the message he/she conveys: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things!” (Rom.10:15)

This implies that we must allow ourselves to be so completely invaded and shaped by His loving Spirit that we become His message of love and the same rivers of life-giving water flow out of us that flowed out of Jesus Christ and met the deepest thirst of people.

The Holy Spirit makes us channels for God, His co-workers, who convey his saving love: the incarnation of what we speak.

If your and my heart has been illuminated, judged and purified by the Spirit of God and done right, our preaching and witnessing will also be right – but a wrong heart produces the wrong message!
