THE SPIRITUAL MAN (2)
"Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. So then, brothers and sisters, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons and daughters of God."
What characterizes the spiritual man?
He is governed by a completely new spiritual law.
It´s the same law that governed the man Jesus and made Him live a life that pleased His heavenly Father in all things.
“The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.”
Jesus Christ has made that law the life law of all spiritual men, the driving force in their lives.
But in order to accomplish this, he had to put the spiritual law that dominates and governs all fallen men out of action: “the law of sin and death.”
That law makes us constantly seek our own and do what we want, instead of what God wants.
It is the life law of the self-centred and self-actualizing man.
He is driven by a desire to constantly manifest himself.
This is the very essence of sin.
How did Jesus put this law out of action?
Through three decisive actions.
First, by overcoming the “law of sin and death” in His own life through a consistent walk in the Spirit in unceasing obedience to His heavenly Father.
Second, by breaking the spiritual power of this law on the cross.
Finally, by making His own life law the foundational life-law of man through the invasion of the Holy Spirit.
We need to receive a personal revelation of what it means to be born again and to have been invaded by the Holy Spirit.
Then we understand that we have had the powerful law of life of Jesus Christ implanted in us and that we have no obligation whatsoever to be driven by the “law of sin and death” anymore.
We have become spiritual people.
And the spiritual man is being led by the Spirit of God.
His goal is to manifest Christ, not himself, to realize God's will, not his own!
