THE ROCK FOUNDATION

"It is written…. a wise man who built his house on the rock.."
— Matthew 4:4, 7, 10; Matthew 7:24

What are you building your Christian life on?

Your amazing experience of salvation?

It’s not strong enough!

No matter how amazing, transformative and life-changing your experience of salvation may have been, you cannot build your life on it.

You must have a better, more secure and more unchanging foundation.

And what is that?

The Rock, the eternal and unchanging Word of God!

Your experience can and will be questioned.

By whom?

By God?

No!

By people?

Maybe.

Even worse!

The devil!

There will come a day in your life, “the evil day” (Eph.6:13), the day when darkness demands you, and you feel as if you have never been saved.

Everything shakes and your salvation experience falls like a house of cards.

What do you say then?

“I have experienced” ….. or “It is written”?

What does “It is written” mean?

It is a word spoken by Almighty and Eternal God and thus established as an unchangeable and eternal fact, a divine truth.

Furthermore, it means that this fact, this irrefutable and divine truth is laid down in human history and applies from the beginning to the end to all peoples regardless of background, experience or belief – it is a universal truth.

It also means that it is a spiritual truth.

What is meant by that?

All other truth is human, based on human observation, research, experience etc., etc., and thus it is changeable, since there are constantly new discoveries, new ways of looking at things.

Divine truth comes from the Omniscient and is therefore absolute and unchangeable: objective.

We cannot build our lives on the subjective, only on the objective.

And observe, it is this divine, eternal, absolute and objective truth that is the only thing the powers of darkness recoil from.

They cannot resist it!

On your “evil day” you must be armed with divine truth, or you will fall!

Is your life based on absolute truth or on your experiences?
