The cross cannot regenerate us into new creations in Christ Jesus, it can only kill us.

Only through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead have the new birth and renewal of our whole

being been made possible.

God could not make us, who were spiritually dead, alive with Christ and raise us with Him, unless He had first raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.

The fullness of salvation is thus found in the cross and the resurrection, not only in the cross.

We must therefore constantly keep alive for ourselves the cross and the resurrection as the fundamental powerful forces of salvation and let their active work penetrate deeper and deeper into us, until Christ becomes not only our innermost reality but also our visible "tangibility".

The task of the law is to reveal the terrible reality of sin and condemn the old humanity to death.

The cross implements that death sentence by making an end to all that we inherited from Adam: all that we are as fallen humans.

We must allow the Spirit of God to identify us deeper and deeper with Christ in his death, so that it leads to us being completely, organically-spiritually united with Him in death so that all of our old life is truly eradicated.

The resurrection conveys our inheritance in Christ: all that He is as the sinless triumphant Lord over life and death and spirit powers.

When we are united by the Spirit with Him in the reality of His heavenly glory, a divine invasion takes place: the Spirit permeates our entire being with all that the resurrected and glorified Christ is and can do.

This is also a process that goes ever deeper and lifts us ever higher into our heavenly reality, so that we can walk according to it in our earthly reality.

Therefore, we daily need to let the cross carry out its work of death in us and the resurrection its life-transforming work.

Then Christ becomes visible in our daily life!
