Why did Christ have to be “perfected”?

Wasn´t He already perfect?

Yes, as Eternally God in heaven, He was absolutely perfect.

But as man, His human nature was perfected through going through every kind of temptation a human being encounters and overcome them, so that He remained “without sin”.

Then, He had to be perfected as Saviour, to be able to become the means of “bringing many sons to

glory.” This could only be realized through enduring the sufferings of the Cross in order to win the necessary victory for the salvation of all mankind.

All through His life, He was perfectly submitted and obedient to His heavenly Father, but He had to take a step further – a step that no one else before Him ever had to, or could have been able to take, and nobody after Him ever will ever have to take – He had to be “obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”

To make atonement for sin, the sinless one had to “be made sin for us”, so that the Father could condemn the awful spirit-power of sin in His body on the Cross and be able to blot out, our transgressions and sins.

Moreover, he must fight the immense spiritual battle with the author of sin unto death, in order to break his power over humanity.

Therefore, the Father can now “rescue us from the domain of darkness, and transfer us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.”

Jesus Christ is a perfect Savior!
