The goal of our life is for Christ to shine forth in our faces, be heard in our words, and be seen in our actions.

God has placed an incredible "treasure" in us, His own Son. (2 Cor.4:7-11)

Our physical life is like an "earthen vessel" that holds this treasure, says Paulus. The problem is that the clay vessel hides the treasure.

Therefore, it must become ‘transparent’!

You could say that the earthen vessel must be broken, not destroyed, in order for "the life of Jesus to be manifested in our body."

Paul shows that we have to go through a series of painful events for this to become possible.

We must be searched through and through and judged in the bright light of God, so that we become transparent, pure and unmixed in our motives, free from all hypocrisy and deceit. This means that everything that lies hidden in the depths of our being and belongs to our old life must be totally exposed and consumed by the fire of God.

We ourselves have no idea what lies deep down in our unconscious, things we have repressed and tried to hide and forget, but it affects us more strongly than we can imagine.

The subconscious ‘pops up’ in dreams and unwanted imaginations and desires. In uncontrollable, unguarded moments things from the subconscious break forth and we say and do things that make us ashamed!.

If we don´t become conscious of our subconscious, it will play games (havoc!) with us all through our lives.

We must be delivered and healed from our past in order to live properly in the present.

If God's Word and Spirit are allowed to do their profound work in us, Christ will shine forth in all that we are and do without our efforts.

It is Christ who must live His life in and through us, not us trying to live the Christ-life.

For this to happen, we must become completely transparent!
