THE ROCK FOUNDATION (5)

"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible."
— Matthew 24:35; Hebrews 11:1, 3

All human knowledge, all research, and scientific “truth” pertains to the physical, visible reality.

And since physical reality is variable and temporary, all scientific research is also variable and temporary, no matter how incredibly sharp its observations may be.

On the other hand the eye of faith sees what no human eye has seen or can see.

The person of faith is absolutely certain of what people generally call imagination and fairy tales.

Through faith we understand what no scientist has understood or ever can understand: the true origin and essence of things, their true constitution and composition, the cause and purpose of their existence.

What is it that we understand?

First of all, that there is a God, a Creator.

The universe did not come into being by chance—its unimaginable beauty and precise design require a Designer. The whole of creation is one great proof of His existence.

We also understand how God created everything—through his Word.

How can we be so sure of that?

The same Word that created this entire enormous universe has re-created me into a completely new person – a person who finally knows his Origin and knows who he is in the deepest sense.

The Word of the Creator has re-created me and has become the foundation of my entire life, my innermost reality: I live through the Word and in the Word.

I know that the Word is the Absolute Truth and the Origin of everything, for it has become my Rock Foundation and personal Truth: He who is the Word lives in me!

Heaven and earth are perishable, temporary – the Word that created them is imperishable, abiding,

eternal.

He who is born again of that Word is also imperishable, abiding and eternal, partaker of “eternal life”.

Is this your rock foundation?
