A word of encouragement for your day.
THREE LEVELS OF KNOWLEDGE
"We know ….., we know …..., we know…."
That Jesus existed is a historical fact, and knowledge of this is intellectual—rational. In the same way, we can know that God exists, provided we have not been brainwashed into believing the opposite. The entire, magnificent creation bears witness to an intelligent Creator, and many renowned scientists have reached this conclusion through purely rational means.
However, such knowledge is not saving; something more is required: revelatory knowledge.
The fact that Jesus was not merely a historical figure, but our personal Savior, must be revealed to us through the preaching of the Gospel: “How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ,” we read in the Epistle to the Romans.
The word of faith begets the saving faith: ”By grace you have been saved through faith.” It is entirely the work of God—a gift of God. Both the knowledge of salvation and the faith that saves are the work of God, brought about through His saving Word.
The Tabernacle prefigures many aspects of the spiritual life. One might say that rational faith corresponds to the outer court of the Tabernacle, while faith based on revelation corresponds to the Holy Place.
Beyond the veil lies the hidden, Most Holy Place, illuminated solely by the Shekinah—the radiant, glorious Presence of God: “your life is hidden with Christ in God”—within the Most Holy Place!
How do we “know” this?
Through direct, intuitive knowledge!
How do we “know” that we are children of God?
In the very same way!
”The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit (the Most Holy Place) that we are children of God.”
It is an absolute, intuitive knowledge, an unshakable, eternal reality—the greatest of all realities.
We can never become anything “more”—we can only gain a deeper inner knowledge of this reality through our daily spirit-communion with the Lord.
Now “we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now we know in part, but then we will know fully just as we also have been fully known.”
What that will entail cannot be expressed in any earthly words!
