PERFECTION

"Each man perfect in Christ. So that you may be perfect and complete…"
— Colossians 1:28; James 1:4

Perfection is life in the Spirit.

Everything done in the Spirit is perfect, because it is the perfect life of God manifest in a human being.

“The good, acceptable and perfect will of God” for every man and woman is that we live according to the Spirit (Rom.12:2), i.e. according to the life God has imparted to us in the new birth.

This is a life without any human effort, and therefore without any pride, because it is not we trying to be or do anything, but God sovereignly manifesting His Son in and through us by the Holy Spirit.

Walking in the Spirit is to live just like Jesus.

His whole life was a life perfectly according to the Spirit, flowing out of His perfect harmony with the Father in a life of total dependence on and complete submission to Him.

When we have allowed the Holy Spirit to bring us into perfect harmony with the Lord Jesus in a life of

total dependence on and complete submission to Him, we will also live a life perfectly according to the Spirit, just like Jesus.

Holiness is life in the Holy Spirit, the perfect life, and all the discipline of “the Father of spirits” has this goal: to make us true sons and daughters, fully reflecting the beautiful character of His beloved Son.

God is eternal because His Spirit-life is the absolutely perfect, unblemished and holy life – therefore it is indestructible, incorruptible and immortal, and indescribably beautiful.

When we have been “born again of incorruptible seed”, we know God in a personal-intimate relationship with Him, because we have become inheritors of His “eternal life”, the divine absolutely perfect and spotless, holy nature. At that moment we also become intrinsically indestructible, incorruptible and immortal spiritually.

Walking in His presence, His blameless, perfect Spirit-life becomes more and more manifested in our mortal and imperfect human nature, and the incredible beauty of our inward man is made visible in our daily actions.

Has the perfect life of Jesus become your perfection?
