TRUE FREEDOM

"Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. Now the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever.  So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free."
— John 8:34-36

True freedom is precious – so incredibly dearly bought, because it costs us our everything, our own life!

The reason is that we are slaves to our own self, to sin, our stubborn hold on our own life.

The hardest thing there is, is to get to the point where we completely let go of ourselves and let God take over – unconditionally.

Then we have no more ambitions or dreams of our own, we ask nothing for ourselves, we put no conditions (or questions), we stop worrying about one thing or another (“What will happen?”) – we only have God, or more accurately: He has us completely, free to do exactly what He wants, how He wants, when He wants.

We cannot get to that point ourselves. God has to bring us there and that can only happen through deep crises, failures, setbacks and disappointments of various kinds, perhaps even illness, accidents and disasters.

We do not voluntarily let go of our grip on ourselves – or rather: we do not realize how deep our grip on our own life is, how stubbornly we cling to our own little selves and our own dreams and ambitions.

The only truly free man who ever walked our earth is the Son: He never sought His own, His own glory, did not (could not do) anything of himself. His whole life was a manifestation of the Father. He completed His Father’s work, not His own, always did what His Father wanted – His will was completely one with the Father’s, His whole life harmonized completely with the Father.

He said only one thing: ”Father”, thereby He existed as Son.

We are created to proclaim Christ. As long as we proclaim, realize, ourselves, we are slaves of sin, of

lies, doomed to death and do not belong in the Father’s house, His Kingdom.

Only the “Son” and the “sons” may remain in the house—only they have “eternal life”—only they are truly born of God the Father.

The Father begets only one: the Son.

When we say only one thing: “the Son” – we exist as sons.

When He is manifested in us through the Spirit, we are truly free!
