GIVE UP!
"Whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it."
What does it mean to lose your life for the sake of Jesus?
To give up the right to your life.
What does that mean?
To give up the "right"….
to rule over your life,
to make your own decisions, independent of the Holy Spirit,
to complain,
to feel sorry for yourself,
to defend yourself,
to worry and to be concerned about yourself,
to try to be liked and approved by others,
to be governed by your own mind and emotions,
…. etc, etc.
You have been freed from my greatest enemy: YOURSELF!
This means that you have only one focus and centre of your life: Jesus Christ.
Everything revolves around Him:
to obey Him,
to be led by His Spirit,
to reflect Him,
to satisfy Him.
You have only one "right" to always and in everything praise, thank and glorify Him.
Your life consists of worshipping and exalting Him.
Everything that comes out of your mouth has the purpose of glorifying Him, even when you speak of daily, ordinary things.
Your life has become a song of praise to Him who is "worthy to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honour and glory and blessing forever and ever!" (Rev.5:11-13).
He who gives up everything, gains everything: the greatest and most precious of all, JESUS CHRIST!
This is total freedom and eternal life!
