GENUINE SPIRITUALITY
"The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water. I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing."
In genuine spirituality there is not so much as a shred of achievement or effort.
The true spiritual life flows forth as a living and spontaneous stream from the innermost depths of our being, when we live a deep and genuine love relationship with Jesus Christ.
He is the Source of all genuine spirituality.
As soon as we try to force, achieve, or accomplish it, the flow immediately stops.
Nor can we demand it or try to force it from anyone else.
True spirituality is not something natural-human – it is supernatural-divine!
But God’s great and original purpose is the union of the divine and the human.
It was fully revealed and manifested in the God-man Jesus Christ.
He is 100% God and 100% man: the most “natural” and at the same time the most “spiritual” man who ever walked our earth.
There is nothing more beautiful than this!
True humanity can only flow out of true spirituality – and true spirituality can only flow out of the Genuinely Divine Man: Jesus Christ.
And our relationship to Him and life connection with Him can only be in true, divine love, something that no man can perform.
That is why Jesus says in John 15:9: “As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you. Abide in my love.”
He binds us to Himself in His divine, unchanging love.
Our love for Him is only a response to His.
When we live in this unperformed love relationship with Him, the genuine, unperformed spirit-life flows forth like streams of living water from our innermost being.
